Lantern & Fullsteam Celebrate Spring in the Beer Garden April 22 2014
On Tuesday, April 22, 2014 Lantern and Fullsteam will celebrate North Carolina Beer Month with an evening inspired by Japanese izakayas in our outdoor beer garden. Andrea Reusing of Lantern and Sean Lilly Wilson will collaborate on a spring menu that pairs a different Fullsteam beer with each salty, spicy, and crunchy dish. Originally scheduled in January, but rescheduled due to snowy conditions, Wicked Weed will continue the beer dinner series with, Brewers Versus Chefs. This five course dinner scheduled for Tuesday April 29th will not only highlight the food and beer at Wicked Weed but it will get you, the diner, involved the tasting process. Each course will be paired with two beers, one chosen by the chefs and one chosen by the brewers. Wake Brewers Wrap Party April 30 2014
Wake County's breweries in conjunction with the Wake SPCA are coming together for a beer festival to cap off N.C. Beer Month. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the SPCA and the North Carolina Museum of Art. The Captain Mark McDowell Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is hosting the 1st Annual Lake Norman Bags and Brews Fest to take place in Mooresville, NC on May 3, 2014.  This event is an outdoor craft beer festival and sanctioned cornhole tournament.  ALL proceeds generated from this event (ticket sales, donations, vendor fees) will be for charity.  In addition to our foundation, we will be supporting the "Welcome Home Vet's Living Military Museum" by Richard's Coffee Shop in Mooresville, NC and the "Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program" organized by Carolina's Healthcare to help youth and adults with physical disablities develop skills to promote active and productive lifestyles without barriers or limits.

The event will also feature live entertainment, food trucks, and vendors including Satellite Cigar.

High Point Craft Beer Festival May 10 2014
Keep your eyes open and calendar ready for the Great American Craft Beer Tour. We are bringing epic craft beer festivals to areas in the Southeast underserved by the craft beer revolution. We will typically have at least 150 different beers from at least 50 different breweries, and the events are designed to provide the optimum craft beer festival experience for all in attendance.

And it’s all about the local experience. We bring in local breweries and homebrewers first, then add regional and national craft beers as needed to allow a complete and broad spectrum tasting for all interested and willing to explore different beers and styles. Local food trucks and caterers will be on hand to provide a variety of food, with local crafters and businesses there as well.

Responsible tasting is important. The Blow Before You Go team is on hand at every event to allow revelers to take a breathalyzer test before leaving. Also, Designated Driver tickets are only $10, and that includes soft drinks and water.

The hours for the events will be 1-5:00 pm for General Admission and tickets are only $35. VIP tickets will be $50 and include a one hour early admission, a T-shirt, and special VIP only beers.

The Best Firkin Beer Festival May 10 2014
The Best Firkin Beer Festival is a different type of beer festival with a focus on artisan, small batch, barrel aged brews from some of the country’s top rated microbreweries. For the past two years we’ve hosted hundreds of beer enthusiasts, brewers, and connoisseurs alike, in the fresh open air of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Moore County Chamber of Commerce presents the 5th Annual Festival of Beers May 17 2014
This year's event is coordinated by the Moore County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Railhouse Brewery, Triangle Wine and Murphy Insurance. The Festival of Beers will be held on the property of the Southern Pines Elks Lodge from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. Appalachian State is offering a one-week brewing short course through the Fermentation Sciences program this summer (2 sessions). This course is for the advanced homebrewer, aspiring brewer, and industry cohort.

Appalachian State University 2014 Brewing Short Course (5-day) The Appalachian State University Fermentation Sciences program will offer a 5-day brewing short course in July 2014 intended for those working within the brewing industry and the advanced home brewer. The course will focus on proficiency and understanding of fundamental brewing principles and technologies, and include standard brewing operations, course material relevant to testing modules offered by the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD), and hands-on brewing activities focused on recipe development and process control and monitoring.

Highland Night Flight July 12 2014
Highland Brewing Company celebrates its 20th anniversary with the inaugural Highland Night Flight on Saturday, July 12, at 8:00 pm. This four-mile race will be centered at the brewery in East Asheville and includes a loop that has never been raced on before. Appalachian State is offering a one-week brewing short course through the Fermentation Sciences program this summer (2 sessions). This course is for the advanced homebrewer, aspiring brewer, and industry cohort.

Appalachian State University 2014 Brewing Short Course (5-day) The Appalachian State University Fermentation Sciences program will offer a 5-day brewing short course in July 2014 intended for those working within the brewing industry and the advanced home brewer. The course will focus on proficiency and understanding of fundamental brewing principles and technologies, and include standard brewing operations, course material relevant to testing modules offered by the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD), and hands-on brewing activities focused on recipe development and process control and monitoring.

10th Annual Shine to Wine Festival September 20 2014
Over the past 20 years, numerous local farmers have moved into the winemaking industry and the Shine to Wine: Wine, Beer, Spirit & Art Festival gives local brewers, distillers, and producers a chance to display and publicize their craft. The festival also traces the historical development of Wilkes County liquor from moonshine to wine. This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 12:00-6:00pm.

The annual Shine to Wine Festival is held in Historic Downtown North Wilkesboro and features live entertainment, art, merchandise, wine, and food. The Shine to Wine Festival has expanded to offer craft beer from local and regional breweries, in addition to spirits from regional distilleries!

General admission is FREE, and wine/beer/spirit tastings are only $20! ($15 in advance) Tasting tickets allow the purchasor to taste all wines, beers, and spirits.

The 2014 Charlotte Oktoberfest will be held outdoors at The NC Music Factory on September 27. The NC Music Factory is located at 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd.
