Beer Bourbon BBQ Festival - Cary August 01 2014
Join us at the festival for a great day of beer sippin', bourbon tastin', music listenin', cigar smokin', and barbeque eatin'. Your admission buys you a sampling glass so you can enjoy an ALL-YOU-CARE –TO-TASTE sampling of beer and bourbon. Hops & Shop Market! August 01 2014
The Hops and Shop Market features 8 Amazing NC Craft Brewers and 40 Incredible Craft Artisans, it's North Carolina's Craftiest Market! The idea is simple, promote and support local NC Breweries & Artisans while helping to raise awareness and funds for a worthy charity like the Pretty In Pink Foundation.

The Hops and Shop Market will be Friday August 1st at Cobblestone Hall in downtown Raleigh's Historic City Market from 5pm-10pm. Sierra Nevada invited every U.S. craft brewer—around 2,800—to serve their beers at the festival location nearest them. Beer Camp Across America is a celebration for the entire craft beer community, bringing together brewers and the fans who’ve helped them thrive. Summer Stretch Festival August 09 2014
Welcome to the first festival dedicated solely to stretching out the essence of summer fun. Our goal is to have one last “hurrah” before “school, fall, harvest, etc” take over.

Sugg Farm is an experience in and of itself. This beautiful piece of land is laid out perfectly to host our first Summer Stretch Fest, and hopefully many more to come. Make history with us, as we kick off the event that we will remember as the one that started it all!

The festival will feature some of the best local food trucks, restaurants, bakeries, and growers around. Fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, ice cream, snow cones, and all “cool down” novelties that we can muster will receive a Summer Stretch spotlight. There will be plenty to try, and all will be perfect for taking back to your picnic blanket by the stage. Picnic Tables and Shade Stations will also be available.

We’re amazed at the number of knockout micro breweries popping up in the Southwest Wake area, and all throughout the triangle. Summer Stretch is the perfect opportunity to cool down, and relax with local flavor at your fingertips.

Craft Beer Brewing class at Wake Tech August 19 2014
Craft Beer Brewing Part 1: Fermentation, Brewhouse, and Packaging Operations. Craft beer brewing is on the rise. This course will help prepare students for entry-level work in craft breweries. The course will involve hands-on training at various Wake County breweries and will explore fermentation, cellar operations, instruments, malting, hops, clarification, racking room operations, bottle shop operations, and more. Students will also produce beer as a group to show their understanding of principles learned in the classroom and field environments.

Next class begins 8/19 and a second Fall class in October - Registration is Open!

At the sampling session, more than a dozen brewers will offer unique creations fitting the Museum’s natural science focus. Sit in on discussions about fermentation, flavors and the engineering of beer. Learn more from local environmental groups and the work they do. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Museum.

7th Annual High Country Craft Food and Beverage Festival August 30 2014
The High Country Craft Food and Beverage Festival is a celebration of craft beer from around the region and the world. Come sample outstanding beers and delicious food in the beautiful high country of North Carolina. Educational seminars will cover aspects of beer tasting, brewing, and food pairing.

The High Country Beer Fest is a part of Ivory Tower Science, a research based non-profit that directly supports student scholarships and academic research in Fermentation Sciences.
