Curious to know what’s going on in the tap room this week? Let’s find out!
This Wednesday we’re hosting our bi-weekly Go Figure Drawing Sessions with local Charlotte artist, Sarah Pollock. The class is FREE and you get to drink beer, draw, and make friends with other art enthusiasts. Join us at 7pm in the private event room, and don’t be late!
THURSty THURSday’s release, “Lean on Me,” is a great beer for a great cause. This is a citrus-forward Red Ale with Amarillo hops, supported by Cascade and Comet. We brewed it in conjunction with Haylo Healing Arts Loungefor their Phoenix Rising Summer Solstice party this Saturday, July 14. They’re raising money for the Fire Fighters’ Burned Children’s Fund this weekend, but you can also donate to the cause in the tap room! We’re also hosting the Charlotte chapter of the National Organization for Women’s Summer Social, so come learn more about this fantastic group!.
We’re super excited about Saturday’s IPA Release of Misty Mountain Hop! This delicious IPA is a hybrid style bursting at the seams with bright citrus and pine notes. Burlington yeast offers a familiar haze of East Coast styles, so you’re getting the best of both worlds. Morningstar Farms is joining us for the afternoon (FREE veggie burgers) and local favorite, Hiya, will be hanging out with us in the evening.
Myths and Royalty: The Phoenician civilization was noted for its use of a dark purple dye, a color commonly associated with upper classes and royalty. In Greek civilizations, the mythological phoenix was reported to be a similar color and, because of that and its association with the word “Phoenicia,” the phoenix was considered a royal bird.
