|MONGEESE ON MONKEYS
Barrel-Aged Imperial Lazy Bird Brown
ABV: 8.7% | IBU: 50
A few of you may not remember some of the Take Flight bottle releases from years back. True, some still make their way into our lineup, but others we’ve retired from full-scale production. These delicious rarities take time to age and are cherished among staff and fans alike.
This week, Mongeese on Monkeys, makes a limited appearance in our tap room for this week’s THURSty THURSday. Aged in rum barrels from Muddy River in Belmont, Mongeese (or MOM, as we like to call it), is a boozier version of your favorite American Brown Ale. It’s malty, it’s rummy, it’s smooth and it’s yummy, so drink up because it’s only on tap for a very short time!
If you’re lucky, you might get some on Saturday but, if you don’t, Be Easy Berliner Weisse will be on tap! This newest light addition to our lineup has a mild tartness and is easily one of the best ways to beat the heat this August.
Full Circle: Last week we talked about Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, a collection of stories that inspired the many films of the same name. But did you know that our mongoose friend Rikki Tikki Tavi was originally featured in The Jungle Book? Watch the cute lil’ critter on YouTube here.
