|Durty Bulletin #27 – What’s All The Buzz About?
Oh. Hi, didn’t see you there. Only a little over a week until we get some fresh lager out to you kind folks. Patience is a virtue but beer is a prized commodity.
Find us in the wild tonight at Pour Taproom in downtown Durham! It’s pay-by-the-ounce there so you can be let down by a ton of beers before coming back to the Durty. Friday night we’ll be at Growler Grlz doing a tasting as well. Stop in and say hi!
This Saturday we’re hosting a Bees+Brews event. For $25 you can learn how to make a cozy little bee hotel, or buzz & breakfast, or even just a roadside Honeyday Inn. That ticket also gets you a full pour of one of our beers so you can really enjoy the workshop. In order to bring even more swarms of happy people in, we’ve got Waffles and Kahve from 3-7pm as well as Kevin Drive Music laying down some tunes from 4-6pm. To get your tickets and reserve your spot, check the webstie out at http://keepdurhambeautiful.org/event/bee-hotels/ or for more info you can check the Facebook page at http://goo.gl/ktcS8D.
Next Tuesday night is round three of our ongoing conquest to be the most intelligent drunks in the Triangle. The Question-a-Bull Trivia night is held every other Tuesday evening from 7-9pm. Prizes include gift cards and free swag. Last week, almost everyone beat their bartender (I’m still calling shenanigans on that one) so this time around the smartest person at the brewery is taking control of the taps. Come out and see if you’re smarter than a fifth grader. I mean if you’re smarter than Matt. Stupid autocorrect. For more info and to show your support, rsvp on the Facebook page at http://goo.gl/nAL9WV.
Durty Bull is a proud participant in Pints for Prostates’ Crowns for a Cure event (there’s the second part of the title). September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and most of our guys are at the age where they start getting more familiar with their physician so we figured we’d try to help. Starting with our Sour Pale Ale, we’re going to be using official Pints for Prostates bottle caps for a couple months to help spread awareness. We’re just one of the fifty-one breweries taking part in this, so drink for a cause and keep an eye out for more of these caps in the wild.
Want to see where the magic happens? Every first and third Friday of the month we provide tours through groupon! Don’t worry, the people giving the tours know much more about the equipment and process than me. Get yours at http://gr.pn/2nW6x3E.
Saturday morning PiYo is on this week. Show up Saturday morning at 10:30am to sweat and get physical. It makes you feel good and more importantly, it makes the beer taste better. In the meantime if you want to support the instructor, Megan Overbay, from the comfort of your own home, you can do so by supporting her and her husband’s nut butter company Big Spoon Roasters at http://bit.ly/2qqT4kP.
Stay tuned for more family-oriented fun and adult-oriented drinks in the future and on our social media pages.
