|Durty Bulletin #32 – Trivia Tonight, Excuses to Grab a Pint Daily
I just love trivia.
Check out the fifth ever round of trivia tonight, 9/12 starting at 7pm. Sherri has been pumping up her trivia muscles in a sick montage reminiscent of Rocky. See if you can last four rounds against all of the other competitors in the ring of knowledge. 2 Chefs on the Go will be on site to pump you full of brain food while we pump you full of charisma fuel. Winning team gets a prize in the form of swag or gift cards, so bring that a-game. Details at https://goo.gl/RzUVYr.
We’ve just released a brand spankin’ new IPA. Our Plasmatic IPA is a perfectly crowd-pleasing amount of haziness that goes down smoother than any other. It sits at 7% ABV but only 44 IBU so you won’t be getting much of the bitterness you would expect. Normally, that would mean someone forgot to put more hops in but here it means the opposite. We used a metric buttload (this is a guesstimate) of cryohops, which are created in a way that preserves all of the hop flavor but without the bitterness. We also threw in a healthy amount of non-cryogenic hops to give it just a tiny amount of bite. It’s on at the taproom, and you might be seeing it around in your local spots soon.
Some of you may have seen on our Facebook already, but for those of you who haven’t, we’re officially ecologically friendly. We’re the first brewery in the Triangle (and third in the state!) to receive a NC Green Travel Certification. We’re going to continue to take action to control and reduce our ecological footprint in the future and we’d like to thank our customers and friends who have helped us do so.
Durty Bull is a proud participant in Pints for Prostates’ Crowns for a Cure event. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and most of our guys are at the age where they start getting more familiar with their physician so we figured we’d try to help. Starting with our Sour Pale Ale, we’re going to be using official Pints for Prostates bottle caps for a couple months to help spread awareness. We’re just one of the fifty-one breweries taking part in this, so drink for a cause and keep an eye out for more of these caps in the wild. Find us in the wild this week at the Brewer’s Kettle in Kernersville Thursday evening from 5-8pm. We’ll also be at the Museum of Life and Science’s ‘Science of Beer’ event. We’ll have our beer flowing throughout the event along with several other local breweries. It isn’t a contest and there are no winners, but being the first one to run out of beer always feels good, so help your boys out. Tickets are still available at https://life-and-science.ticketleap.com/science-of-beer-17/.
Want to see where the magic happens? You can this Friday! Every first and third Friday of the month we provide tours through groupon. Don’t worry, the people giving the tours know much more about the equipment and process than me. Get yours at http://gr.pn/2nW6x3E.
Saturday morning PiYo is ON this week. Bring your yoga mat and water bottle to the taproom Saturdaymorning at 10:30 am to work out and stay healthy. Afterwords, we’ll be kicking off our pop-up market so bring some shopping money. In the meantime if you want to support the instructor, Megan Overbay, from the comfort of your own home, you can do so by supporting her and her husband’s nut butter company Big Spoon Roasters at http://bit.ly/2qqT4kP.
We’ll be in touch next week with more brews news.
Yours always in love,
