Do you like dogs and/or cats? We can vibe with that. We’re hosting the APS of Durham once again this Saturday, March 31st, for a fundraiser and adoption event. From 2-5pm we’ll have puppies, kitties, and adult humans who sell things locally. There will also be copious beer on tap. We’ll have Gussy’s Greek food truck out that afternoon with some alliteration-friendly pita for them pups. Redleg Husky will be performing live for everyone there, and I think that not only will you enjoy their music, you can also appreciate the theme we’re going for here. Among our growing list of vendors you can expect to see some of our regulars such as Strickly Handmade (local woodworking and decorations), Big Spoon (nut butter), Alex LuLaRoe (clothes), and Carolina Boxer Rescue (doggos). Show your excitement and pet our ego at https://goo.gl/uRySdb and while you’re at it, let Redleg Husky know you’re excited to hear them howl at https://goo.gl/XPg97A.
Our next round of trivia with Jessie will be neither long ago nor far away. It’s actually Tuesday, April 3rd from 7pm til 9pm right here at our taproom! If that ‘force’-d joke didn’t clue you in, we’re doing a Star Wars theme. Brush up on your Klingon and bust out those red shirts, because we’re hitting that final frontier with all we’ve got! (But really it’s about the one with Jedi and Wookies). Let us know how excited you are at https://goo.gl/fxBn5b!
It’s that time of year where all of your favorite local businesses are asking you to cast your vote for your favorite local businesses. As one of your favorite local businesses we’d like to ask for your vote in not one, but two different competitions. We were a runner up in our first year in the competition and word on the street is it’s only been up from there. If you’re unsure, you’ve just earned yourself another reason to come see us one more time. We’re listed in both Indy Week’s Best of the Triangle 2018 (voting information at: https://goo.gl/PdwK1R) and Durham Magazine’s Best of Durham 2018 (voting information at: https://goo.gl/d7y5Cq). Every vote counts, and we’d love to be able to confirm what we’ve known all along; that we’re the best brewery in town.
Each Thursday in March we’re hosting ReCity as they put on what they’re calling ‘Happy Hour’ and this is the last one for the month! It’s a nice meet and greet with some food each Thursday evening, and it has a nice meaning for our community as well. This month, we’re donating a portion of our proceeds for the night to The Helius Foundation. These guys are only a couple blocks away and help local small business owners run their business and pay fair living wages. Still on the fence? Check out their website at https://goo.gl/T3vNkw to see where your money will go.
Food trucks! Friday night we’ve got Qspresso, which means cubanos and happy bartenders. It’s the real life version of that Chef movie on Netflix everyone loves. As mentioned above, Gussy’s is getting us to the Greek on Saturday for our APS adoption event. Next Tuesday our regular Taco Tuesday pals at Cilantro will be feeding our hungry trivia nuts once again.
See us in the wild this week at Barley Labs. We’ll be at Durham’s newest dog-friendly beer spot on Thursday from 5-7pm!
Love pinball but hate carrying change around? Love cheaper beer than usual? Hate Mondays? Prepare to change that tune. Every Monday at the taproom we are offering not only $1 off full pours of our beer, but also free pinball! Come get your game on, you’d be surprised what a couple pints can do for your high score.
Want to see where the magic happens? Every first and third Friday of the month we provide tours through groupon. Don’t worry, the people giving the tours know much more about the equipment and process than me. Get yours at http://gr.pn/2nW6x3E.
