Durty Bulletin #59 – The Good Kind of Pop-Up
Fresh Brews on Tap
- Diploid Imperial IPA
- Plasmatic IPA (Fresh!)
- Genetic Drift American IPA
- Oddball BBA Sour Saison w/ blackberries
- Orange-Rosemary Sour
Let’s start with the important bit right off the bat this week. By the time you are reading this, we’ve released our newest batch of our much-loved Plasmatic IPA. You can get it on tap at our taproom, or if you’re feeling adventurous you can take home some shiny new cans. This time around we’ve double dry-hopped it with Mosaic and Simcoe Cryohops before biotransforming it to produce some truly unique properties. Besides that, it’s the same hazy, juicy IPA you’ve already fallen in love with.
This weekend is chock full of great things for you to do at our brewery. First thing on the docket is Friday night. We’ve got the perfect night out planned for you so don’t even stress about where to take that date or where to let off steam after work. Not only do we have our usual friendly and warm atmosphere, we’ve got Jessica’s food truck on site all evening. Plus, we’re offering pints of lager for only $4! If you come early in the evening you can share your passion for all things two-wheeled with our Fuel the Bull bike night. If you’re less of a rider and more of a sitter, we’ve also got you covered. Starting at 8pm is our 2nd version of the already-beloved Open-Mic Stand-Up Night! You can enjoy your food and beer to the sweet sounds of amateur stand-up comedy, or if you’re like me and often find yourself in awkward situations that seem funny later, you can get on up there yourself.
Saturday is equally big while also being fun for the whole family. Starting at noon we’re putting on another one of our Pop-Up Markets! We’ll provide the beer and the space, the vendors will provide the goods, the truck will provide food, and the band will provide fun. All you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself. We’ve got tons of local vendors as well as a silent auction to help lighten those wallets, with proceeds going towards the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association. Charlie’s Kabobs will be serving some foods on some sticks, which works out perfectly while holding a beer and trying to buy crafts. Plus we’ve got our pals The River Otter Band dishing out some really cool Country Blues, a genre mashup I didn’t know I wanted.
Sunday afternoon we’re hosting the Riding of the Bulls. This is a riddle-filled, geocaching, treasure-hunt of a bike ride that will take you around Durham on your favorite two wheels, with a curiously named helmet for the grand prize. If you don’t have a bike but still want to participate, luckily for you we’ve got tons of those orange bikes nearby that would love to be rented (plus that QR code on our door that makes the ride free!). We’ll have Smokehouse Bandits, a kickass BBQ truck on site for the event to put that figurative fuel in your figurative tank.
Catch us in the wild this Thursday in Greenville as we pour beer at Christie’s from 6-8pm.
Love pinball but hate carrying change around? Love cheaper beer than usual? Want to drink at a lower price on a Tuesday? That’s my kind of people. Every Tuesdayat the taproom we are offering not only $1 off full pours of our beer, but also free pinball! Come get your game on, you’d be surprised what a couple pints can do for your high score.
Want to see where the magic happens? Every first and third Friday of the month we provide tours through groupon. Don’t worry, the people giving the tours know much more about the equipment and process than me. Get yours at http://gr.pn/2nW6x3E.
