Episode #320 – Unknown Brewing – Vehopciraptor Triple IPA

Today we are drinking the Vehopciraptor Triple IPA from The Unknown Brewing Company in Charlotte.  They unleashed this latest “ferociously tasty brew” in early October. The press release for the beer says “The Unknown’s Vehopciraptor will quickly capture the taste buds of anyone who takes a sip. The triple IPA beer, which rates a 90 on the International Bitterness Unit (IBU) scale and has a 9.9% alcohol by volume (ABV) content, was brewed with seven hops and nine hop additions, providing a smooth initial taste along with a strong citrus scent.” Brad Shell from Unknown, say “not to be fooled by the high IBU rating. Although Vehopciraptor is heavy on the hops, they are well balanced throughout to give this brew a great nose and a huge hop nectar.”  Two prior releases of Vehopciraptor were classified as double IPAs and rated at 70 IBU.  For another take on the new Vehopciraptor, check out Jonathan Pylant’s posting for PorchDrinking.com at https://www.porchdrinking.com/articles/2016/11/04/unknown-brewing-vehopciraptor-triple-ipa/
