The Hoppy Trout Brewing Company is a new brewpub located in Andrews. They opened on New Year’s Day, 2016, and so were literally the first brewery to open in NC in 2016. All their beer is brewed on premises and sold in the pub with some limited self distribution in the immediate area of Andrews. They brew 1 BBL batches at a time, 31 gallons, which classifies them as a nano brewery. They also cook pizza in their handmade Sicilian style brick oven. We stopped in recently and talked to Tom Rodeck, owner and founder, about his first half year of operation for this new NCBeerBuzz episode.
