The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery’s Father Fest: Live music, family activities & free health screenings + delicious beer
CHARLOTTE- Show Dad how special he is by joining us at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery as we celebrate Father’s Day all weekend long. Enjoy fresh beer, delicious food from the Brauhaus – including specials just for dad – and the summer weather in OMB’s award-winning Biergarten. Live music will also be playing both Saturday and Sunday.
SATURDAY: Have fun with the kids!
Discovery Place will visit OMB from 11a-3p Saturday and host Tyrannosaurs Rex themed activities. Dig for fossils to discover your inner archaeologist, practice your prehistoric art skills and get fearsome T-Rex (temporary) tattoos.
SUNDAY: Keep dad healthy!
Pints for Prostates will visit OMB to promote men’s health Sunday afternoon. The Charlotte-based national charity is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and will offer free men’s health screenings (a simple blood test) that look for serious health issues, including the warning signs of prostate cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Take advantage of this opportunity — where else can you enjoy a beer while receiving a check-up? – and you might also win a five-night “Carolinas on My Mind Beer Adventure” for two.
Year-round offerings Copper Altbier, Captain Jack Pilsner, Hornet’s Nest Hefeweizen and Fat Boy Baltic Porter will be on tap. Early Summer Seasonal Munzler’s Vienna Lager will also be available. This lager honors NC’s 1st brewer, Martin Munzler, and is a crisp, smooth, and satisfying drink perfect for sunshiny weather.
