In this episode of the NCBeerBuzz, we stop in at Black Mountain Ciderworks in Black Mountain at 104 Eastside Drive, Unit 307 and around the back of Pisgah Brewing Company to talk to Jessica Puzzo-Bowman and David Bowman, co-owners and ciderists. Using local apples, they strive to make ciders in the traditional way. They produce sessionable meads that are lower ABV than traditional meads. When visiting the tasting room, expect dryer ciders that rely not on sugar/corn syrup for flavor, but rather on real fruit, herbs, and spices. They embrace the terroir of our Southern apples – the sweet and the tart! Check them out!
