OMB Medal Celebration
October 13 @ 11:00 am - 11:00 pm
Fat Boy Baltic Porter & Hornet’s Nest Hefeweizen are now beloved world-wide: With Fat Boy’s Gold medal win at European Beer Star 2017 and Hornet’s Nest’s Bronze medal win at Great American Beer Festival 2017, OMB is one of only three American breweries to medal at both global competitions. This Friday, we’re celebrating!
Beginning at 11am on Friday, OMB is offering a sample of Fat Boy or Hornet’s Nest to visitors. Festivities will also include live music and the release of our Rein Stein Keller Pils: https://www.facebook.com/
John Marrino, Founder of The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery: “To win two medals on two continents – America and Germany – in one year is an amazing feat. Our team works tirelessly to brew premium beer and deliver it cold and fresh to the Charlotte region every day. To have our beer recognized as world class is validation of our dedication to quality, traditional brewing methods and world class product. We’re an American brewery with German inspirations, so to compete in both countries and win medals is the absolute highest honor we could achieve.”
OMB’s Director of Brewing Operations, Dave Martin, adds: “We put a tremendous amount of work and effort into producing the best beer we possibly can and these accolades prove that our work is appreciated on a global scale.”
OMB Brewers, Brett Battista, Chase Petrovic & Tyler Copeland, contribute: “We are proud to represent the Charlotte beer scene. These wins are great feedback that we’re doing things right.”
Come celebrate The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery and Charlotte’s cemented status as a city that proudly produces some of the world’s best beers. Prost!
