919 Beer presents Beericana Craft Beer and Music Festival Sep 12 2015
NC Craft Beer? Great music? You’ve come to the right place.
Where: Sugg Farm Park in Holly Springs (map and directions)
When: September 12, 2015 from Noon - 6pm

Beericana is a premiere N.C. craft beer festival featuring breweries from the Triangle, across the state, and beyond, blended with great Americana/Bluegrass music and local food trucks.

VIP admission begins at noon and will include special kegs from around the state, not available to general admission ticket holders.

Lonerider Brew-It-Forward 2015 Sep 12 2015

Brew It Forward 2015 will be held at Lonerider Brewing Company.

Judging will be begin at 10am. Winner will be announced at 2PM. 8816 Gulf Ct #100, Raleigh, NC 27617

We believe in giving back to the community and as home brewers and beer geeks we realize the opportunity we have had in being able to realize our dream. Therefore, we want to share the chance of brewing a batch in a professional environment with others who may have similar aspirations. We also want to split the profits from sale of the first winning batch on our system between the winner, and other charities. We realize it’s a small step forward towards furthering the state of craft beer; but we hope a step in the right direction. Research. Browse the Lonerider website and become familiar with our product portfolio. Your American-style brown ale may be great, but do you thin that it is good enough to replace Lonerider's "Sweet Josie", which won a gold medal at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival? Some examples of previous beers to win Brew-it-Forward are a pale hoppy lager, a black hoppy ale, and a pale malty ale. None of them had anything in common with existing Lonerider products. Be creative.

This contest is about brewing your best beer. There are no style guidelines to limit your creativity. Try combining the attributes of one or more beers into something new. Also remember that you are responsible for naming the beers, so think of a clever name that fits into the Lonerider "old west" theme. So, fill out your entry forms, recheck the rules, fees, and drop off locations, and send off your entry. It’s now out of your hands, so stop worrying. You’ve done all you can do. Oh, and be sure to save a bottle to drink when you get the scoresheets back.

A FREE shuttle service to the greater Wilmington area will be available after the festival, so go ahead and enjoy yourself! Food vendors will be on site as well, so you can enjoy delicious foods while you explore the world of hops, grape and grain.

A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit The Carousel Center, a non-profit organization committed to assisting victims of child abuse, providing critical care services to throughout southeastern North Carolina. Over the last 13 years we’ve raised over $150,000 for this wonderful organization and we can’t wait to give them even more this year! 3rd Annual CiderFest NC Nov 07 2015

This year's festival builds on that success, offering a larger fun-filled yet relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the distinctive hand-crafted hard ciders from many regions throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as an opportunity to learn about this rapidly growing industry in Western North Carolina. Come and let your taste buds discover how our refreshing (and naturally gluten-free) hard ciders pair especially well with local cheeses and artisan hand-crafted breads and crackers. Non-alcoholic organic cider and apple samples will also be served by our local apple growers.

Among the new activities will be cider & cheese tastings; apple press demonstrations; cider evaluation & awards by French Broad Vignerons; a Hard Cider 101 panel; and free pumpkin painting and activities for the kids and the young at heart!
