Olde Hickory Brewery Omega Point Release March 07 2015

Omega Point - the beer that fans were beginning to believe a myth. Barleywine aged in bourbon barrels for as long as 7 years with the vinatages then blended together by our master brewer Steven Lyerly. Fans heard rumors months and months ago, and have been waiting ever since. Now the release date has finally been announced!

Sat. March 7th, 2015. Olde Hickory Brewery (2 Third Street SW, Hickory, 28602)

Please note this is a cash only sale. And everyone, and we mean everyone, will have their ID checked. So don't forget to bring it.

Doors will open at 9am. The Olde Hickory Station restaurant is within sight of the brewery and opens at 7am for breakfast. A great place to start the day if you need to recover from the night before (see below) or head over for lunch after the release. Line will form in the brewery parking lot. First come, first serve, with a maximum of 12 bottles per person. The 22oz bottles will be $20 each. You'll also have the option to purchase an Omega Point glass (while supplies last)!

And what awesome brewery release would be complete without an equally amazing gathering the night before? So the brewery will be hosting a reception the night before (the 6th) from 6-9pm. Check out the barrels, our new tanks, and the rest and have a great time! The Olde Hickory Station, with its 50 tap bar, and the Olde Hickory Tap Room are within easy walking distance of the brewery for further jollity that evening. And if you are (wisely) staying in a hotel we'll be running a free bus service in a loop from downtown to a group of hotels off of I-40 exit 125, from 5pm until midnight Friday night.

2nd Annual All Ale to the Queen - Beer Carnival March 28 2015
The 2nd Annual All Ale to the Queen – Beer Carnival presented by Superfly Fablous Events, will be the 'Official Closer of the Charlotte Craft Beer Week' in 2015. All Ale to the Queen – Beer Carnival will be held on March 28, 2015 at Amos' Southend in Charlotte.

Once again All Ale to the Queen promises to be a "one of a kind" event and a "must do" for craft beer lovers in the region. All Ale to the Queen – Beer Carnival takes a different approach by focusing on the unique aspects of beer, with a little WOW factor mixed in.

For those who are lovers of craft beer, All Ale to the Queen brings the Queen's Twin Cloning Challenge, the Joker's Wild Strain Brew Off with honeysuckle, peach and blueberry wildstrains from SouthYeast Labs located in the Carolinas, and a 10 Station Mixology Bar and Mobile Infusers infusing everything from Apple Pie to French Broad Chocolate.

Attendees can expect outrageous fun at this event including music from DJ Allen Rockhouse, amazing aerial performers from Aerial Charlotte, Hula Hooping from the Beer City Hoopers, belly dancers, jugglers, contact ball performers, costumes and more. This is what makes the Beer Carnival a must see. And of course, a Beer Carnival wouldn't be a Beer Carnival without a King and Queen Competition.

The hoopla will surely be a source of laughs and good times, but rest assured, All Ale to the Queen is very serious about beer. In addition to the sampling of dozens of unique and original local and North Carolina brews, this festival will feature several fun ways to enjoy beer and invite the beer community to engage in a little friendly competition, all with the goal of creating awesome beer.

Participants have the opportunity to choose which Grand Tasting they would like to participate in, with either the 1st Session Grand Tasting from 1-4 or the 2nd Session Grand Tasting from 5:30 to 9:30. The festival is only a light rail ride away.

Beer City Festival - Asheville May 30 2015

1st annual Durham Blues and Brews Festival May 30 2015

This isn’t a Beer Fest with music, or a Blues Fest with Beer, it’s a new type of an event designed to be a unique experience, by offering Great Blues music and only North Carolina Craft Beers.

The Brewers will be on site to tell you about their Breweries and Beers while you sample from their selection. Not the “shots” you get at Beer Fests, but an 8 oz. pour for you to enjoy while learning about their beers, and listening to great blues bands. This eliminates spending excessive time standing in lines and allows you time to enjoy the music, beer, and your friends.

All of this is included in your ticket purchase!

** There will be food trucks onsite, so you may purchase any food separately **

This Event is to support local Durham charities, including The Exchange Family Center, and their programs to fight child abuse.

Saturday May 30th, 2015
4:00PM - 9:00PM

Durham Central Park
501 Foster Street
Durham, NC 27701
