Sarah made her public singing debut in 1991, at age 4, sitting on top of a piano played by her dad and singing “Somewhere over the Rainbow.” They reprised that performance at her wedding in 2017. Sarah grew up on the likes of The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, and Bob Dylan; her current musical obsessions/influences include Jason Isbell, Julien Baker, Dar Williams, and her many musician friends.
Sarah sings, plays piano, guitar, and a little percussion, and writes music with strong melodies and carefully crafted lyrics. She performs regularly with the Martha Bassett Band and contributed two original songs to their latest release, Dark of the Night. Sarah has, by good luck and fortuitous timing, opened for the likes of Derek Webb and Delta Rae.
