The Casual Pint and Wicked Weed Brewing support local land and water conservation

Pints for Nonprofits to benefit Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy on August 8

Asheville, NC – On Wednesday, August 8, The Casual Pint in South Asheville will host Pints for Nonprofits
from 6-9 pm, benefitting the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy’s (SAHC) efforts to protect
vital land and water resources. Wicked Weed Brewing has crafted a special brew to support conservation
of mountains, forests, farms, streams, and rivers across Western North Carolina and East Tennessee.

“We are thrilled and proud to be represented as the charity for Appalachia!” says Cheryl Fower, SAHC’s
membership director. “We are very grateful to Wicked Weed Brewing for donating a portion of proceeds
from all sales of Appalachia Session IPA, to help support conservation of the mountains we call home.
Events like Pints for Nonprofits at The Casual Pint also help raise awareness about the unique character
and threatened resources of Southern Appalachians.”

Named for the mountains that surround Asheville, Appalachia Session IPA is on tap for a limited time
throughout Western North Carolina. A percentage of all sales of Appalachia Session IPA will be donated to
SAHC to support protection of headwater streams that flow into three major river basins, including the
French Broad River, Catawba River, and Broad River. Donations to SAHC also help protect farmland for
productive family farms, wildlife corridors buffering the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains
National Park, and special places for outdoor recreation. SAHC has helped protect lands added into
Cherokee and Pisgah National Forests as well as state parks, game lands and natural areas. The non-profit
conservation land trust also works with a variety of private and public agency partners across the region
to help manage habitat on protected lands.

“For more than 44 years, SAHC has worked to protect scenic views, habitat for rare and endangered
native species, and places for people to hike, camp, fish, bike, and more,” adds Fowler. “Our corporate
partnerships provide critical funds for us to be able to continue this work.”

To support SAHC with Pints for Nonprofits, The Casual Pint will donate $1 for each pint of Appalachia
Session IPA sold that day and items for a raffle, with proceeds benefiting SAHC.
